OBJECTION
the verbal response of a lawyer when something inappropriate is happening during a trial or deposition. It is one of many steps involved in protecting the record.
A procedure whereby a party asserts during a trial that a particularwitness, line of questioning, piece of evidence, or other matter is improperand should not be continued, and asks the court to rule on its impropriety orillegality.
